Wearing Dolce & Gabbana’s Devotion Makeup Collection Is Just Like Falling in Love

Though fashion month may come with its share of out-of-the-box makeup inspiration, there's something to be said for a timeless approach to beauty. Dolce & Gabbana knows it, and is launching a makeup collection today to celebrate.
The Italian brand's line has long been a favorite of travelers to Europe (where it's available at the very glamorous Harrods and Dolce & Gabbana boutiques), but now you can finally pick it up here stateside. The first collection collection, named “Devotion,” is all emblazoned with the brand's iconic Sacred Heart.

The 12-piece collection is comprised of a volumizing mascara, illuminating face powder, and a selection of liquid lipsticks (nine roseate shades, all in a matte finish). The release traffics in romantic glamour, a notion reflected in the gold-heavy packaging.

The love-lorn line-up focuses vegan, upcycled, sustainable, and oft-Italian ingredients, all with application strategies meant to mimic the natural beauty that comes with intimacy. The brand recommends blending lip color with fingers to achieve a blurred effect (the sort that comes with kissing), a dusting of the Illuminating Face Powder for instantaneous radiance, and a swipe (or several) of mascara for a dose of intensity (aka #drama). Because actually falling in love and looking like you're falling in love are two sides of a frequently tossed coin—and we're here for both.
